Steinert
Steinert GmbH, Cologne, Germany, has released the UniSort Film EVO 5.0, which offers a redesigned stabilization system with intelligent airflow for sorting lightweight 2D objects and maintenance enhancements for high availability and operational reliability.
Like with its predecessor, the UniSort PR EVO 5.0, this new model includes dynamic calibration and automatic white balance, Steinert reports in a news release.
The UniSort Film EVO 5.0 provides recyclers with a solution for 2D sorting. It offers new belt coverage, making it easier to access machines. Service hatches and ventilation plates are easy to reach and clean from maintenance access points, which ensures a high level of sorting purity in the long term.
Steinert reports that a targeted airflow right at the beginning of the sorting process—before material to be sorted even reaches the conveyor belt—ensures even distribution of objects over the complete belt width. Synchronizing the flow with the belt speed ensures a stable position on the belt, enabling material to be detected and sorted reliably by the high-resolution hyperspectral imaging technology.
Additionally, a specially developed sealing airflow ensures 2D objects are held in an ideal position and sorted reliably, even after leaving the belt, Steinert states. This design helps to produce a circular airflow that reduces emissions while ensuring resilience.
