The Rusmet Group, a Russia-based metals and raw materials news and research company, is hosting a panel discussion entitled “Steel Market: The Price for Protectionism” at the Russian National Exhibition event, which takes place in mid-November at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
The panel discussion, set for Nov. 18, will touch upon several issues, according to Rusmet, including:
- the situation in global, Russian, U.S. and other regions’ steel markets;
- the most significant problems and challenges faced by steel industry today and the ways to overcome the difficulties;
- raw materials and scrap markets; and
- export and import relations.
Says Rusmet in publicity materials promoting the event, “Market analysis and forecasts by leading experts will be presented at the conference.”
The session is a part of a wider business forum that carries the title, “Russia — U.S. ‘Reset’ of Relations: Points of Growth under New Economic Conditions,” which will be held in Chicago Nov. 17-20. That forum is accompanied by the Russian National Exhibition. The events are supported by the office of the Mayor of Chicago, Richard Daley, World Business Chicago and the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, according to Rusmet.
Representatives of a range of manufacturing, trading, logistic, and consulting companies and enterprises from Russia are scheduled to take part in the conference.
More information on the Chicago event can be found on the Web at http://rf.rusmet.ru/steel_eng.php.
