The most recent report from the Bureau of International Recycling notes that stainless steel production and consumption set a record last year.
Sandro Giuliani, chairman of BIR’s Stainless Steel and Special Alloys Committee, adds that this year should continue to show some fairly positive signs for the stainless scrap market.
Additionally, Giuliani says that specialty alloys will benefit from shortages of material.
Members of the BIR may read the full report by going to the association’s web site at www.bir.org.
