Sims Recycling Solutions FZE (SRS), Jebel Ali, UAE, has signed an agreement with Microsoft that allows SRS to supply refurbished computers and servers preinstalled with Microsoft software to businesses, consumers and non-profit organizations. SRS offers asset management and end-of-life solutions for IT assets that include secure data destruction, as well as full IT and electrical recycling services from Jebel Ali.
Philip Hughes, SRS’ managing director for the Middle East, says, “For our corporate clients, many of them seek solutions to enable their old assets to be re-used in a compliant and environmentally beneficial manner, or for use in their internal corporate social responsibility programs. Being able to refurbish their old systems and then for us to offer them for re-use or resale with fully licensed Microsoft software pre-loaded helps to improve the return that we can offer them.”
Chris Acker, a spokesman for Microsoft, adds, “The Microsoft OEM refurbisher team is pleased to welcome Sims to the Microsoft authorized refurbisher program as one of a very select group of secondary PC refurbishers worldwide. We look forward to collaborating with Sims in developing innovative offerings to the Middle East marketplace.”
SRS in Jebel Ali opened operations in May 2012 and is building compliant electrical, electronic and IT recycling solutions for governments, corporates and SME’s in the region, and are supported by a network of reseller partners across the region.
