Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS) has announced that it has invested in new automatic metal sensing machinery at the company's 200,000-square-foot electronics recycling facility in Roseville, Calif.
The existing shredding and recycling technology already in place at the facility automatically separates steel, copper, aluminum and circuit boards. The new machinery will be used to recover more metals from the shredded plastic stream that could not be recovered using the company's current equipment.
Rafael Reveles, engineering and technical director for SRS, North America, says, “The performance of the sensors has met our expectations, and we hope to continue optimizing them for peak performance."
