U.K.-based Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS) has announced that it is the first recycling sponsor for the Northeast Recycling Council’s (NERC’s) State Electronics Challenge.
The challenge was created to encourage state, regional and local governments to purchase greener electronic products, to reduce the impact of computers during their use and to manage obsolete computers in an environmentally safe way.
In North America, SRS operates 11 sites in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Nevada, Ontario, South Carolina and Tennessee.
NERC’s goal is to advance an environmentally sustainable economy by promoting source and toxicity reduction, recycling and the purchasing of environmentally preferable products and services. Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, New Jersey and Delaware are members of NERC.
