Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS), headquartered in West Chicago, Illinois, a provider of global information technology asset disposition (ITAD) services, has announced that it’s U.S. on-site destruction services have been AAA certified by the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID), Phoenix.
NAID AAA certification creates and verifies the qualifications of certified information destruction providers. This certification process is designed to ensure the data security needs of global enterprises meet numerous laws and regulations requiring protection of confidential customer information.
“Data protection regulations now require customers to verify and monitor specific aspects of their service provider’s capabilities and procedures,” says NAID CEO Bob Johnson. “By adding NAID AAA certification to their qualifications, a company has validated that they meet those security and regulatory requirements. In that regard, their NAID certification actually makes their customers compliant with their responsibilities.”
“We are pleased to have our on-site security services now certified to a standard that is recognized across the globe,” says Steve Skurnac, president of SRS. “The whole certification process validates and, in some cases, improves the care to which we protect and destroy our client’s data regardless of where the data resides in an electronic asset.
“It is our hope that this standard, in conjunction with our other security and environmental certifications, gives evidence of our commitment to keep moving the bar higher,” he adds.
SRS says it sees on-site data destruction as another tool it can offer to help enterprises put together robust and safe data destruction programs.
