SRS Opens Miami Field Office

The electronics recycling firm Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS), with its Americas headquarters in Chicago, has opened a field office in Miami. According to the company, the new office will allow it to better serve existing clients and to respond to an increased demand for compliant, secure and sustainable solutions for end-of-life electronics from businesses located in South Florida and Latin America.

 

Steve Skurnac, president of SRS, Americas, says the new location is basically a commercial office where contract employees can “pound the pavement” to get material from sources in the Miami area.

 

The field office, opened June 1, 2012, is a stand-alone sales office that represents a new approach to expanding the availability of the company’s remarketing and recycling services, SRS says. The Miami office is located near the company’s 155,000-square-foot Responsible Recycling Practices-certified recycling facility in Tampa, Fla., therefore, Sims is able to immediately address the electronics reuse and recycling needs of corporate, educational, governmental and municipal clients in the region.  

 

“While Sims Recycling Solutions already has a well-established presence in Tampa, this new Miami field office will make it possible for us to not only maintain and improve current customer relationships, but build new ones,” Skurnac says. “We believe this market offers tremendous opportunities for growth and we look forward to providing the businesses and residents of Miami with secure, responsible electronics reuse and recycling services.”

 

He adds that this commercial office is a first for the company. If successful, SRS will spot other locations near its processing centers. Additionally, Skurnac says, the company will consider opening a processing center in the southern Florida area if its business grows sufficiently as a result of the new office.
