Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS), with North American headquarters in Chicago, has announced that its Los Angeles electronics recycling facility has been certified to the Responsible Recycling Practices for Electronics Recyclers (R2) standard.
R2, a set of voluntary requirements for electronics recyclers, is supported by electronic OEMs, the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), public interest groups, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and a number of state and local governments. The standard includes environmental, worker health and safety and security best practices.
