Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS), with global headquarters in the United Kingdom and a North American regional office in Chicago, has announced that its precious metal recycling facility in Franklin Park, Ill., has become the eighth SRS facility in North America to achieve OHSAS 18001 certification.
OHSAS 18001 is an international occupational health and safety management system standard designed to enable an organization to control its health and safety risks. OHSAS 18001certification is the result of an audited verification of the organization health and safety management system.
"Achieving OHSAS 18001 certification demonstrates the total commitment to the health and safety of our workers and workplace," says Mark Glavin, SRS vice president of operations, precious metals. "I would like to thank the entire staff for the hard work that has gone into this latest certification.”
The 60,000-square-foot facility offers precious metal recycling services designed to maximize the value of precious metal scrap. The facility has processing capacity of 5 million pounds per year.
