Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS), an electronics reuse and recycling firm with Americas headquarters in West Chicago, Ill., has confirmed the expansion of its contract with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Disposition Services department. In North America SRS, which is owned by Sims Metal Management, operates 14 sites.
SRS says the contract expansion was based on its “capability to meet DLA qualifications and offer the best economic, compliance and stewardship needs.” End-of-life materials being recycled under the contract will include IT and military equipment.
“We are very excited to expand our service offerings with DLA,” says Sean Magann, vice president of SRS, Americas. “Our best-in-class capabilities allow a level of confidence in data security and environmental compliance unmatched in the electronics recycling industry. We look forward to offering continued support to DLA’s mission."
SRS says the agreement went into effect in March 2014.
