Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS), with North American headquarters in Chicago, has announced that all three of its electronics recycling facilities in California have been certified to OHSAS 18001:2007 certification and ISO 14001:2004 standards by Bureau Veritas. The certifications require adherence to specified environmental, health and safety management requirements.
Additionally, SRS’ facilities in Tucson, Ariz., and Sparks, Nev., also recently have been certified to the OHSAS18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2004 standards.
"We have always had exceptionally high standards for the safety of our employees, contractors and visitors and will continue to work hard to secure our vision of continuous improvement and excellence in recycling," says Steve Skurnac, president of SRS North America. "We are pleased with the improvements made within our facilities and the safe environment that we are providing for our employees and visitors on a daily basis."
The only SRS facility that has yet to be certified to these standards is the company’s newly opened New Jersey facility.
