Sims Recycling Solutions Canada announced that it has become the first electronics recycling company in Canada to be registered to the Responsible Recycling (R2) Practices. The standard, supported by a number of electronic OEMs, the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI), the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. state and local governments is a set of requirements for electronics recyclers.
The standard includes requirements for environmental, health and safety and security practices.
"We are very pleased to become the first Canadian electronics recycling company registered to the R2 standard, recognizing yet again our commitment to leading the industry," says Cindy Coutts, president of Sims Recycling Solutions Canada. "This registration reaffirms Sims Recycling Solutions' ability to meet society's growing need to work with recyclers who have internationally acceptable audited operations in place that demonstrate best-in-class recycling practices."
