SP Newsprint Announces Downtime at Oregon Mill

SP Newsprint Co., Atlanta, has announced that it will take market related downtime at its mill in Newberg, Ore.

The mill will be down from Feb. 20, 2009 through March 8, 2009.

This downtime will result in approximately 20,000 metric tons of lost production. SP Newsprint will maintain adequate inventories to ensure that its customers will not experience any service interruptions during the shut-down, the company says.

SP Newsprint Co. is the fourth largest newsprint manufacturer in North America, with approximately 900,000 metric tons of newsprint production capacity. SP Newsprint operates mills in Dublin, Ga., and Newberg, Ore., and operates 23 recycling facilities through its subsidiary, SP Recycling Corp.
