The multi-national paper company Sonoco has promoted Brad Weller to the position of division vice president and managing director, Asia. He will be responsible for all of Sonoco’s industrial and consumer businesses throughout China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
In this new position, Weller joins Sonoco’s Management Committee and reports to John Colyer, vice president, Global Industrial Products, and Rodger Fuller, vice president, Global Rigid Paper and Closures.
Weller previously was Sonoco’s division general manager, Industrial Products, Asia. He will remain in Sonoco’s Asia headquarters in Singapore.
Sonoco also announced that it has hired Ernest Yong as general manager, Consumer, for the company’s Asia business. The company also named Mark Chenhall managing director for Sonoco’s Industrial Converting and Consumer Packaging businesses in Australia and New Zealand. Chenhall previously was general manager for Sonoco’s industrial and consumer businesses in Australia.
