Sonoco Products Co. announced plans to close a plant in Santa Maria, Calif. The plant manufactured HDPE plastic bags. The company has opted to combine the plant with other Sonoco operations. The closing is expected to be completed by the end of this June.
The company will continue to operate other plants at its existing operations in Victoria, Tex.; North Vernon, Ind.; Mt. Olive, N.C.; Milesburg, Pa.; and, Hartsville, S.C.
