The diversified global packaging company Sonoco, based in Hartsville, S.C., has named three executives to new positions with the company.
John Colyer Jr. has been promoted to vice president, Global Paper and Industrial Converted Products. He will be responsible for the company’s largest business segment, including global tubes and cores, paper, recycling, wire and cable reels. He also becomes a member of the company’s executive committee.
The company also named Ronald Leach vice president of Sonoco’s recently expanded Global Protective Packaging segment. He also was elected an officer of the company and appointed to the executive committee.
Finally, Sonoco has named R. Howard Coker to the company’s executive committee. He remains vice president, global rigid paper and closures. In this position, Coker has global responsibility for the company’s composite can, and metal and peel able membrane ends and closures businesses.
