Sonoco Products Co. announced plans to buy privately held Hayes Manufacturing Group Inc. Hayes makes paper-based tubes, cores and composite cans.
``This agreement represents a continuation of Sonoco's strategy to seek a non-dilutive acquisition opportunities in our existing business segments,'' said Harris DeLoach, Sonoco's president and chief executive officer.
