Smurfit Kappa Recycling, one of the largest paper recyclers in the United Kingdom, has appointed Paul Clarke to the new role of strategic development director.
Clark, who will work out of Kappa Recycling’s headquarters, joined Smurfit Kappa Group in 2003. In 2005 he became assistant corporate planner at the company’s headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, and was involved in the merger between Jefferson Smurfit and Kappa Packaging, as well as the initial public offering (IPO) two years later. In late 2007, Paul moved to Paris, taking up the role of paper division planner.
Simon Weston, Smurfit Kappa Recycling’s managing director, says, “I am delighted that Paul Clarke has elected to join Smurfit Kappa Recycling in the U.K. He has wide experience within the Smurfit Kappa Group and will bring a fresh perspective on our fast changing market that will complement our business and bring renewed energy to our commercial activity.”
