Smorgon Steel Group, one of the largest scrap metal companies in the world, has agreed to purchase the assets and goodwill of Chantlers Metal Recyclers, subject to due diligence.
Smorgon said Chantlers is the second largest collector of nonferrous industrial scrap in Sydney, Australia.
The company said the acquisition would position Smorgon Steel Recycling as the industrial recycler of industrial non-ferrous scrap metal in the Sydney region.
Smorgon Steel Recycling operates from close to 40 locations spread throughout Australia, New Zealand and China.
