Smart Papers has launched its line of Knightkote matte packaging and folding board in a coated one-side and coated two-side offering. In addition to the product being Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified, it contains 40 percent post-consumer waste (PCW).
The matte coated board is manufactured with 50 percent total recycled content, including 40 percent post-consumer fiber, and features a 92-bright, cool white shade, in calipers ranging from 7- to 14-point.
“This new product meets an important market need,” explains Tom Kleimeyer, director of marketing for Smart Papers. “The vast majority of premium coated board products contain no post-consumer waste fibers. Forty percent PCW is a significant new benchmark in this high-visibility, high-demand category of printing and converting papers.”
SMART Papers said the product can be used in pharmaceutical, perfume and other non-food product packaging. Other applications include direct mail, brochures, announcements, book covers, folders, post cards, tags, pocket folders, menus and much more.
All papers are elemental chlorine free, process chlorine free, acid-free and meet and exceed archival standards.
