SITA France, a subsidiary of Suez Environnement, has acquired Boone Comenor Metalimpex, a French company that recycles ferrous and nonferrous metals. The acquisition fits in with SITA’s strategy to grow all segments of its recycling and waste management business.
With the acquisition, Suez Environnement will process 2.2 million metric tons of ferrous scrap, giving the company a significant presence in the metals recycling business. The acquisition also allows the company to provide a wider range of product offerings to its customers, both in France as well as throughout Europe.
Established in 1899, Boone Comenor Metalimpex has 400 employees and posted revenues of €258 million (US$377 million) last year, half coming from the French market. Boone operates in 12 countries and has more than 30 locations throughout Europe and Asia.
