Sims Metal Management (SMM), based in New York City, has taken delivery of more than 20 Sennebogen material handlers for its U.K. operations that are being supplied by E. H. Hassell and Sons Ltd. The company will be using the Sennebogen machines at several of its operations in the U.K.
After detailed discussion the “Sims scrap metal specification” was agreed upon—a Sennebogen 830M material handler with 17 meters of reach; 800-liter, five-tine grab; and numerous safety systems.
“Thanks to the modular concept and high diversity of the Sennebogen machines, we were able to put forward a package that exceeded Sims’ requirements,” observes Ian Hassel, managing director of E.H. Hassel & Sons. “Our company has been servicing and supplying specialist equipment for over 35 years, and we see our new relationship with Sims Metal Management as the next stage in the company’s continual growth.”
Sims operates more than 230 plants on five continents.
