Sims Recycling Solutions Glasgow, Scotland, division earns accreditation

The mobility division of Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS), based in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, has received accreditation to the Occupational Health and Safety Management System BS OHSAS 18001:2007 standard.

The site and services in Glasgow have been accredited under the existing certification that already covered SRS’ on and off-site IT asset disposal (ITAD), data destruction and mobile shredding services, the company says.

BS OHSAS 18001 is designed to establish minimum requirements for occupational health and safety management best practices. It is a framework for an occupational health and safety management system that “ensures companies have the policies, procedures and controls needed to achieve the best possible working conditions, aligned to internationally recognized best practices,” SRS says.

Visiting auditors recommended accreditation to the Glasgow mobile services division, according to SRS. Services offered at the location include repair, refurbishment and resale of mobile phones, tablets and laptop computers. The recent visit also recertified Sims Recycling Solutions’ other Scottish ITAD site in Dumfries for an additional three years.
