West Chicago, Illinois-based Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS), a global provider of electronics recycling and information technology asset disposition (ITAD) services, has moved to a new facility with more warehouse space in Tampa, Florida.
According to a news release, the new site will provide SRS with better operational layouts and more efficient operations.
“As our lease expiration was approaching, we saw an opportunity to upgrade facilities,” states Sean Magann, SRS global vice president of sales and marketing. “The new operational layout enables us to have a higher throughput, which will benefit clients, especially if they have projects that they are ready to expand.”
Features of the newer construction include:
- tilt panel concrete walls designed to prevent intrusion
- improved electrical power to meet SRS secure shredding requirements; and
- testing and auditing lines needed for clients requiring advanced recycling, auditing
and testing capabilities.
These upgrades meet current ISO 27001 and TAPA (Transported Asset Protection Association) security standards and allow SRS to efficiently process mixed loads under one roof. Shredding and recycling activities will be separated from the advanced IT testing and refurbishment, but all operations will be housed in the new facility.
“This will reduce the burden on clients and improve logistics, as they will not need to segregate equipment prior to shipping,” SRS states.
