Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS), headquartered in West Chicago, Illinois, has expanded its operations in Singapore to take advantage of the development of the company’s global IT asset disposal (ITAD) business in Asia.
SRS says that most of the customers it is working with at its Singapore location, especially those in the financial services industry, are based in both North America and Europe, and have a presence in Singapore. “These same customers are asking us for a consistent and streamlined service in the region and we eager to oblige to their needs,” says Sean Magann, vice president of SRS.
Magann says the company was “simply outgrowing the original space.” With that in mind, the company’s Singapore facility will expand to use more square footage. Modifications being made on-site will allow Sims to keep up with increased demand for integrated and global ITAD solutions.
“At our site in Singapore, we moved from a restricted area to an expanded area, so we are now working in space that is four times larger than before,” Magann notes.
“This will allow us to enhance our IT asset disposition services and handle a substantial amount of more business in an efficient manner. We are also adding several technicians to support our new asset management system,” Magann says.
“As leaders in the industry, we will continue to develop and expand our ITAD services across the globe in an effort to better accommodate our customer’s current and future needs,” says Steve Skurnac, president of SRS. “The experienced personnel and processes at this location are a large part of the region’s success and have contributed to the sustainability of this site since incorporation in February of 2008.”
Magann says that the Singapore location is the hub of SRS’ Asia-Pacific activities and the company will work to coordinate its services through the region. The location provides a variety of ITAD services, including dismantling, hard drive wiping, asset trading/reporting and resale.
