Sims Metal Management (SMM), headquartered in Sidney and New York City, has announced that Darron McGree, currently managing director of Australia and New Zealand Metals for SMM, will step down from the position by June 30, 2015.
“Darron has been an integral member of Sims’ executive team for more than 30 years, running our very successful Australasian division,” says SMM’s CEO Galdino Claro. “He leaves our business in a very sound position, and we are truly indebted for the wisdom and foresight he has shown in building our business to its pre-eminent position in the region.”
McGree will remain as a non-executive director of Sims Group Australia Holdings Limited for a period of time, according to the company.
SMM says it has initiated a search for McGree’s replacement.
