Sims Metal Management (SMM), headquartered in Sydney and New York City, has announced that Robert Kelman, who has been managing director of SMM’s European Metals division since July 1, 2014, will retire from the company on June 30, 2015. As the managing director of the division he was charged with the realignment and growth of SMM’s metals recycling operations throughout Europe. He will remain as a consultant to Sims for a period of time after his retirement.

Prior to heading up SMM’s European Metals division Kelman served as SMM’s president, North America Metals. He previously held positions of president of commercial and business development of SMM and president and COO of predecessor company Sims-Hugo Neu.
Paul Wright, SMM’s director commercial, UK Metals; and Peter Bird, director of operations, UK Metals, will now report directly to Galdino Claro.
