Gary Sims, president and chairman of Sims Bros. Recycling, a Marion, Ohio-based recycling company, has announced the promotion of Garrett Tracey to the position of COO and chief commercial officer (CCO). Tracey, who joined Sims Bros. in 2008, previously served as vice president of the company’s ferrous division.
As COO, Tracey will be responsible for the direction, operation, management and profitability of the company's’ four Ohio scrap yards. His CCO responsibilities will include overseeing purchasing, sales and market positioning programs as well as guiding long-term scrap management initiatives and key commercial agreements.
Prior to joining Sims Bros., Tracey was district manager and trader at Tube City IMS in Cincinnati. He also has worked for the David J. Joseph Co.
“Garrett has a strong background in a wide variety of disciplines, and his professionalism and industry knowledge has been a major contributor to the growth of the company,” says Gary Sims.
