Sims Australia will be installing a 100SXS shredder made by The Shredder Co. (TSC), Canutillo, Texas, at a scrap recycling location in Brisbane, Australia.
The purchase was made to replace the present machine with a new mill with added capacity, according to Glen Howe and Joe Rovere of Sims Australia.
Scotty Newell, president of The Shredder Co., says the modernization will make the plant “the most advanced shredder in the Sims inventory in Australia.”
The shredder and systems upgrades include automation technology from TSC’s Smart Shredding System (SSS), the automatic Smart Water System (SWS) and the Super Double Feed Roll Squared (SDFR2) system
The shredder system will also include TSC’s Special Alloy Steel Rotor and TSC’s latest castings design. “When all of this is combined it will aid in the reduction of their cost per ton of the shredded steel,” says Scotty Newell.
He adds that he and his father, Scott Newell Jr., have been doing business with Sims since the early 1970s and look forward to continuing to do business with the company.
The shredder is scheduled to be shipped from Texas and delivered to Australia in March of 2009.
