Sicon introduces vertical shredder

The EcoShred Vertec is available in four sizes with different rotor configurations.

Germany-based Sicon has introduced the EcoShred Vertec, which it describes as a “versatile vertical shredder.”

The EcoShred Vertec is available in four sizes and with different rotor configurations adapted to the intended application. Consequently, this machine allows for scrap compaction or targeted material separation, according to the company. The machine is suitable for processing electric motors, meatballs, electronic scrap, mixed scrap and cooling scrap.

If requested, Sicon says it easily can expand the EcoShred Vertec by installing a matching feed line and ferrous and nonferrous metal separation.

For mixed scrap processing, a rotary shear, available in different versions and throughputs, is installed upstream. As a result, the EcoShred Vertec is turned into a full-fledged shredder installation for throughputs of up to 15 tons per hour, Sicon says.

With the modular Sicon solutions for metal processing, the EcoShred Vertec can be an ideal addition for scrap processors, according to the company. In processing electrical and electronic scrap, for example, after precrushing by the rotor shears and separation of contaminated components, further processing takes place in the EcoShred Vertec for subsequent plastic and metal separation.
