Shredmore LLC, Alexandria, La., has launched the model 3040E electric shred truck for the secure destruction industry.
According to the company, the all-electric Shredmore technology doesn’t require a PTO, or “power take off,” drive shaft from the truck engine to run the shredder and auxiliary equipment, resulting in quieter, cleaner and more fuel-efficient operation. Unlike standard shred trucks functioning with PTOs, the Shredmore truck engine is exposed to less wear and tear from constant revving, a process necessary to keep up with power demands, according to the company.
The 3040 E features a self-contained “shredding pod” for portability. The pod can be plugged into existing electrical service for plant-based processing, reconfigured onto another chassis or removed for fixed operation, as needed.
At the core of the 3040E is a custom single-shaft, low-speed Cresswood Destroyer shredder equipped with sizing screens for the reduction of documents and other confidential material to a predetermined particle size.
