Trustees of John Wood Community College, Quincy, Ill., approved a three-year contract with Shredpro Inc. of St. Louis for the shredding of confidential student and employee records.
This will allow the college to be in compliance with the recently enacted federal Graham/Leach Bliley Act regarding the use and disposal of confidential financial information. Alan Steigelman, vice president of finances and business services for John Wood, says this contract will be "cheaper and a lot more efficient" than the current method of disposing of the documents.
