The Shredder Co. links up with C&G

Texas firm will help produce larger shredder model for Italian equipment company.

C&G Srl, Daverio, Italy, has announced what it calls a strategic partnership with The Shredder Co., Canutillo, Texas. Through the partnership, The Shredder Co. will help design and manufacture a 2,000-horsepower shredder available to C&G customers in Europe and other parts of the world.

C&G Business Development Manager Edgar Root says the partnership is one of two reasons why 2014 has been an auspicious year for the northern Italian company, with the other being the celebration of its 50th anniversary.

C&G “has grown exponentially over the years in the pioneering manufacture of metal recycling machinery,” Root says.

The company offers equipment in three product lines:

  • the Taurus range of balers and shear balers with cutting forces ranging between 500 and 1,500 tons;
  • Sasco shears and shear balers with up to 800 tons of cutting force designed for smaller and midsized recyclers; and
  • shredders and preshredders that can process scrap metal and downstream systems to purify the metal.

More than 700 balers and shear balers have been sold worldwide under the Taurus product name, C&G says. Its new shredder product, the company states, will benefit from its connection to the Newell family, pioneers in metal shredding.

The official announcement of the strategic alliance took place at the 2014 Ecomondo recycling fair in Rimini, Italy, in late October 2014.

“The two companies will pool their combined engineering knowledge to develop new technologies and features throughout all their product lines so that they always stay one step ahead,” Root says.
