Cambridge, Ontario-based Shred-Tech (www.shred-tech.com) has introduced the MDS-30GT mobile document destruction truck.
The MDS-30GT offers a throughput of up to 6,500 pounds per hour and a legal payload of up to 14,000 pounds, according to Shred-Tech. “The MDS-30GT’s quality features and workmanship benefits entrepreneurs looking to start a mobile shredding business and existing service providers who are looking to improve the bottom line,” the company says in a press release.
The MDS-30GT feature’s Shred-Tech’s ST-15H shredder with cast aluminum shredder body components and ultra-high-strength steel alloy knives and shafts, the company says.
The system includes Shred-Tech’s Plus 1 micro-control. “This logic control technology allows for remote diagnostics, advanced predictive idle and auto-shutdown, while remaining remarkably easy to use,” according to Shred-Tech. Its predictive idle feature detects low shredder loads in an unattended shredder with an empty hopper and sequentially lowers engine RPM to idle, disengages the power take-off system and shuts off the engine to conserve fuel and reduce shredder and engine hours. The company’s remote panel on/off feature allows operators to restart the truck and system from the side control panel without entering the cab.
The MDS-30GT is equipped with the company’s patent-pending Gripper Tipper bin tunnel loading system, which detects the position of the gripper, according to the company. Its tunnel is designed to ensure that containers stay completely enclosed during loading.
The MDS-30GT’s moving floor unloading system can discharge a full load of shredded paper in about four minutes, while offering the added utility of a straight truck for transporting boxes and containers.
