Shred-It Targeting Middle East Market

Shredding company sees good growth opportunities in UAE.

Shred-it plans to target the United Arab Emirates' $234 million infotech market for its services.

"The I.T. industry, which handles a great amount of confidential client and technical information, is prone to competitive and identity theft and will greatly benefit from our sensitive information disposal service," said Stuart Mansbridge, General Manager, Shred-it, Dubai.

'The UAE 's infotech industry figures very strongly among the Gulf countries, with events like GITEX placing it on the international map and IDC projecting software spending in the Emirates to cross US$245 million by 2007. Companies need to realise the potential damage that information theft can cause in such a fast-growing competitive industry.'

Shred-it has already signed up with HP, Cisco and Motorola in the UAE and plans to further expand its infotech client base.

'I.T. solutions companies often have access to confidential client information, which, if in the wrong hands can destroy client confidence. To avoid this, most companies opt for hard- to -guess passwords and disposal of important documents. They often overlook CDs and DVDs that may contain client data, technical or business strategies.

'Shred-it can destroy even discs into small strips using cross-shredding techniques. We help clients assess what constitutes confidential information and which departments need to be careful about document disposal.'

SENNEBOGEN 340G telehandler improves the view in Macon County, NC

An elevated cab is one of several features improving operational efficiency at the Macon County Solid Waste Management agency in North Carolina. When it comes to waste management, efficiency, safety and reliability are priorities driving decisions from day one, according to staff members of the Macon County Solid Waste Management Department in western North Carolina. The agency operates a recycling plant in a facility originally designed to bale incoming materials. More recently, the building has undergone significant transformations centered around one machine: a SENNEBOGEN telehandler (telescopic handler).

Shred-it places locked security consoles in client offices where staff can drop important documents. Shred-it representatives will then empty the contents on a fixed schedule and destroy it on-site, ensuring secure disposal. AME
