Shred-It’s Columbus, Ohio franchise is moving to a new location. Stephen Elsass, president of the franchise, says that the company expects to move from its present leased location to its own facility by January.
The move is being done to allow the company to provide even greater security for its customers. The new facility will allow the shredding trucks to enter through one door and leave from another door. The building also will have a power washing system to keep the vehicles clean. Additionally, the new facility, which is roughly 14,000 square feet on 2-1/2 acres, will require key card access throughout the facility. The facility can grow, depending on the demands for the facility, Elsass adds.
"Site visits are becoming more important. More people are looking for that," Elsass adds.
The franchise, which services roughly one-third of Ohio, presently has eight trucks with a ninth truck coming soon.
Elsass also points out the company has a unique double shredder on one truck, which is ideal for handling large volumes of checks. Shred-It also is trying to get approval for certain other applications such as Department of Defense specifications.
Elsass has owned the franchise for 5-1/2 years.
