Shred Easy, based in the United Kingdom, is launching a hard drive destruction solution for businesses of, all sizes. The comprehensive service securely audits and destroys obsolete hard drives on-site, at customers’ premises.
The decision follow the company launching the service in four BT data centers in the last six months.
All hard drives to be destroyed are electronically recorded using bespoke barcode scanning process which records the drives’ unique serial numbers; each hard drive is catalogued and saved electronically and issues a destruction certificate to customers; the audited hard drives are then transferred to the shredding vehicles and shredded to industry standards.
Finally, after the shredding process, customers are given a complete audit trail confirming their compliance under the Data Protection Act.
“Our on-site hard drive destruction service provides a secure, green and effective way for companies to control their confidential data. The service, tailored to BT's requirements, has not only provided them with significant cost savings but also guaranteed the secure disposal of their confidential data,” said Jim Watson, Shred Easy’s managing director.
