Global Marketing Systems (GMS), a United States-based buyer of obsolete ships, has opened a new office in Hamburg, Germany. GMS says it has exclusive representatives “in all of the major ship recycling markets in the world” and has negotiated recycling contracts for about 2,000 ships.
The company has offices in the United States, Dubai and Shanghai. Additionally, the company has representative offices in India, Romania, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Turkey.
The company also reports it has added Henning Prinzen to its sales and purchase staff.
Prinzen previously worked with the Hamburg firm Andreas J. Zachariassen, Hamburg, where he worked as a sale and purchase broker. Previously, he was employed as a sale and purchase broker with Felter Shipping of Hamburg from 2003-2012.
