Ireland’s Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation Batt O’Keeffe has announced the official opening of Shabra Group’s €3.5 million (US $5.4 million) plastic bottle sorting facility in Monaghan, Ireland. O’Keeffe says the new facility will add 35 jobs.
According to a press release, the project received support from the Enterprise Ireland Growth Fund.
Shabra, located in Monaghan, says it is Ireland’s only fully integrated reprocessing, recycling, manufacturing and supply company for plastic bottles and film. The company says the expansion will allow it to sort more than 40,000 metric tons of mixed plastic bottles per year.
The group has three separate companies: Shabra Recycling Ltd., Shabra Plastics and Packaging Ltd. and Shabra Polymex Ltd.
