The steel company Severstal North America (SNA), Dearborn, Mich., has appointed David Howard vice president of purchasing, effective Nov. 28, 2011. He will be responsible for the overall purchasing function of the company.
Howard rejoins Severstal North America from his position as chief commercial officer for RG Steel. Howard previously held the positions of vice president and general manager of the Sparrows Point facility when it was under the direction of Severstal, as well as the vice president, corporate planning for SNA.

His experience, knowledge and broad business acumen in the steel industry will be very important for optimizing our procurement practices and increasing the contribution that our Purchasing organization makes to the overall success of the company,” Sergei Kuznetsov, Severstal North America CEO, says.
