Severstal NA appoints director of scrap and metallics procurement

Severstal North America, a Dearborn, Mich.-based steel producer, has named Sanjeev Badola its new director of scrap and metallics procurement. He will be based in Dearborn.

In his new position, Badola will direct the company's strategy of procuring metallics and scrap metal. He will report to Gerrit Reepmeyer, Severstal’s vice president of procurement.

"I am honored to welcome Sanjeev to the Severstal team," says Reepmeyer. "His profound background and knowledge of international metallics trading will be a tremendous asset for our company."

Prior to joining Severstal, Badola served as the worldwide trading manager of raw materials for Starglobe. In that position he handled a $400 million portfolio of pig iron, hot briquetted iron and iron ore trades. Before his time at Starglobe, he worked with Carbofer, where he was involved in trading pig iron.
