Severstal North America (SNA), a Dearborn, Mich.-based steel producer, has appointed Olga Petrova as its new chief financial officer (CFO). The company, a subsidiary of Russia-based OAO Severstal, also named Michael Tuomey deputy chief financial officer.
Petrova joins SNA from OAO Severstal, where she had been the head of the business planning and controlling department since 2011.
“We are pleased to welcome Olga to our North American team,” says Saikat Dey, SNA’s CEO. “She brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in finance, capital allocation and international business operations. I am confident that Olga will be an invaluable asset to our organization as we move forward to position our company as a high-performing, customer-oriented steel supplier of choice.”
Petrova succeeds Interim CFO Michael Tuomey, who has been named deputy chief financial officer. Tuomey has been with Severstal and its predecessor companies for 28 years in various senior-level finance positions.
“Mike’s dedication, broad business experience in the industry and overall knowledge of SNA’s financial systems will be instrumental in helping the company be more responsive to customer and employee needs,” says Dey.
