SERDC Gears up for February Conference

Nashville’s Opryland Radisson serves as host of recycling conference.

The Southeast Recycling Development Council (SERDC) and the Tennessee Recycling Coalition (TRC) are hosting the 2007 Joint Southeast Regional Conference and Exhibition at the Opryland Radisson in Nashville February 7 to 9.

 

According to the two organizations, the event will feature exhibits, educational sessions on a variety of topics, formal and informal networking opportunities, an awards event and a workshop on commodities.

 

Topics covered during the sessions include:

  • Traditional and non-traditional market trends
  • Marketing programs
  • Incentive-based approaches for increased recovery
  • Green building
  • Realities of storm debris management
  • Organics recycling initiatives
  • Retail successes

  • Recycling’s role in energy conservation
  • Recycling economic impact studies.

 

Bill Heenan of the Steel Recycling Institute, Pittsburgh, will deliver a keynote speech, while a tour of Rivergate Recycling and the historic Hermitage will also be on the program.
