A new POSCO Specialty Steel mill in Vietnam, near the capital of Ho Chi Minh City, is the new home to four Sennebogen material handlers.
At the beginning of 2015, Sennebogen Asia Pacific and its sales and service partner Kilwoo Corporation delivered the four Sennebogen 830 material handlers to Ho Chi Minh City. The machines will help South Korean logistics provider Il Shin Marine Transport Co. Ltd. supply scrap to the POSCO mill in Vietnam.
With an operating weight of 38.5 metric tons and a reach of 15 meters (49 feet), the material handlers have been specially equipped for what the companies call “demanding applications” in scrap handling.
When the machines were handed over by Sennebogen Green Line Sales Manager Dennis Hasenkopf, he and the mill’s operations people identified ways the machines can help South Korea-based POSCO save up to 40 percent of its material handling operating costs.
Using a multi-shell grab, each machine has been adapted to feed in cycle times of less than 30 seconds. For the drivers, a Sennebogen Maxcab comfort cab has been designed to provide them with a full view and a pleasant working environment in daily operation.
