Sennebogen Adds Walter Payton Power Equipment to Distributor Network

Company provides sales and service to most of Michigan.

Walter Payton Power Equipment, Tinley, Ill., has joined the Sennebogen distributor network.

“We were looking for a quality line of machinery to complement our existing lines, like Manitowoc and Grove,” Robert Johnson, general manager of Walter Payton Power Equipment, says.

Football legend Walter Payton opened the business in 1993 with his wife Connie and Mi-Jack products. At that time, the company focused on renting construction equipment. However, prior to Walter’s death from a rare liver cancer in 1999, the business assets were sold. Connie and Walter’s former teammate Matt Suhey reopened the business a few years later. The company now focuses on retail sales and service and serves most of Michigan. “We felt that our organizational capabilities would better suit a retail organization,” Suhey says in a Sennebogen press release.

“Walter Payton Power Equipment embodies the business philosophies of the Sennebogen family,” Constantino Lannes, president of Sennebogen America, says. “Their commitment to meeting the needs of the equipment already in the region, providing the level of service that their customers demand and marketing the product are the keys that continue to make then a market leader in their territory,” he adds.

“Our experience in cranes and other lifting equipment equipped with electric and hydraulic controls provides us the background necessary to appreciate the quality built into each machine,” Robert Johnson, general manger for Walter Payton Power Equipment, says. “And anyone that is familiar with Sennebogen knows that these are purpose-built machines.” He adds that the equipment’s engineering, design and craftsmanship speak for themselves.

Johnson has dedicated a salesman to the Sennebogen line. “This means our customers get to deal with a very knowledgeable individual who can really provide complete answers to any of their questions,” he says.
