Sennebogen Introduces Addition to Its Line of Purpose-Built Material Handlers

New ‘Green Machine’ designed to offer more choice to operators in the heavy duty lifting and loading applications.

Sennebogen LLC, Stanley, N.C., has introduced a new model green line material handler for American markets, designed to offer more choice to operators in heavy duty lifting and loading applications.

The Sennebogen 860 M is a 165,000-pound rubber-tired material handler designed for use in heavy duty lifting applications such as scrap recycling yards, steel works and port facilities. The new 860 model is also available as a crawler-mounted “R-HD” model in the 180,000-pound range, as well as in a wide range of optional configurations, including rail, barge, gantry and stationary pedestal mounts.

According to Constantino Lannes, president of Sennebogen, the 860 M and R-HD models fill a gap in the green line line-up between the existing models 850 and the 870. It has been designed to out-reach and out-lift similar machines in the size range. To enhance its productivity, the 860 is available with numerous boom and stick configurations, depending upon the application.

Two different cabs are available with the Sennebogen 860. Along with the standard D270 maXCab, the 860 can be equipped with Sennebogen’s D300/260 hydraulically elevating cab, which gives operators the ability to adjust the cab upward and forward. Each of the cabs includes the latest D-Series features from Sennebogen such as a sliding entry door, roof-to-floor front window and extensive guarding.

Lannes says that introducing a new model in this size range is a response to increasing customer interest in larger, higher capacity machines. “We see a greater demand among recyclers who are building around high capacity shredders and higher volume processes. Our port customers are attracted to the fuel efficiency of our machines, shifting away from converted excavators to install equipment that achieves faster loading cycles with longer reach.”

Powered by a 364 HP, 11-liter Cummins, the machine delivers a generous power profile for extended operating cycles with low fuel consumption, the company says. The 860 models can be ordered with electric power, as stationary or tethered units. The swing gear is driven by a closed circuit loop with independent swing pump, piggybacked on the main pump. Both mobile platforms provide an extra-wide stance allowing the machines to lift and swing full loads through a 360o arc.
