Secure Eco Shred will offer free shredding and disposal of confidential documents to Chicago residents Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the 4500 block of N. Lincoln Ave. across from the Old Town School of Folk Music.
Two file drawer boxes of material are permitted per person, and participants need not remove staples or paper clips.
The contribution to the community was made possible by Secure Eco Shred, the suppost of the 47th Ward Alderman Gene Schulter and the Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce.
"Maintaining personal privacy may be the largest challenge in the 21st century," Schulter says. "It's not only the responsibility of businesses in our community to take proper care of confidential information -- it's also the responsibility of each individual to make sure their privacy is protected."
