Host of Second NAPET Conference announces program

Event discussions to cover the impacts of PET imports, pricing implications and PET packaging designs.

The Second NAPET (North America PET Resin Trade, Recycling & Packaging) conference will be held in Napa Valley, California, Nov. 2-4, 2015, with an agenda focused on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) imports into the United States and its implications on pricing and PET recycling rates as well as the emergence of new packaging designs for beverages in the U.S., event organizers say.

The event is organized by the Centre for Management Technology, based in Singapore.

According to CMT, the event will open with discussions on the latest innovative PET packaging designs for wines and liquors, featuring Matt Zimmer, CEO of Stacked Wines; and Rui Peneda, managing director of GEPACK.

Other topics and speakers expected to be part of the program include:

  • The impact of PET imports from China, Oman, India and Canada on the U.S. PET market with Dale Behm, managing director of Pacific Rim Traders
  • U.S. PET recycling trends, challenges and opportunities, with Amcor Rigid Plastics’ Charlie Schwarze, global sustainability manager; Alexander Delnik, president of Verdeco Recycling; Jim Hill, recycling specialist with CalRecycle; Ronnie Little, specialty plastics market development manager, Eastman Chemical, and John Standish, technical director of the Association of Postconsumer Plastic Recyclers
