Doug Sebastian has re-joined Harris Waste Management Group Inc., Peachtree City, Ga., after spending one year working for scrap recycler Metal Management Inc., Chicago.
“We are pleased to have Doug return to Harris,” says Edd Berkoben, the company’s president. “He brings a significant amount of knowledge and expertise to Harris, as well as numerous contacts and relationships within the industry.”
Sebastian re-joins Harris as vice president of parts and project services. Before leaving to become asset manager for Metal Management, Sebastian served as vice-president ferrous sales for the Harris Press & Shear division.
In his new role, Sebastian will be responsible for developing Harris’ global replacement and wear parts business, including ramping up the Harris-Parts.com online parts and service division.
According to Harris vice president of sales and marketing Scott Williams, Sebastian will focus on supporting the Harris dealer network and Harris customers on both the ferrous and nonferrous metals side of the industry.
Additionally, Sebastian will solicit “non-traditional” fabrication work for the Harris facility in Cordele, Ga. One recent example of this type of work has been the production of a scrap charger for an electric arc furnace.
“Basically, I’m going to be focusing on all parts and service, plus any special projects that Harris is taking on right now,” says Sebastian, who started back with the equipment maker on July 23.
